 Anticipating a retirement in the near future, the Village of Sheffield is seeking the best qualified candidate for one of the two following full-time salaried positions.  After interviewing candidates for both positions and selecting the best candidate, the Village will structure or re-structure the organization accordingly. Position:  Village Manager

 
Reports to:  The Village Manager shall be supervised by, report to, and be accountable to the Village President and shall also be accountable to the Village Board of Trustees.

 Duties:  The Village Manager shall oversee all operations of the village, including 1)managing all village employees, 2)performing most village treasurer duties, 3)performing village clerk duties, 4)overseeing ordinance enforcement, zoning, and similar regulatory duties, 5)prepare for and attend village board meetings, 6)and all other duties assigned by the Village President.

Position Requirements:  Five years of professional supervisory and management experience, evidence of post-secondary education or training, intermediate accounting and business office skills and experience, excellent communication and leadership skills, interest and ability in understanding municipal governance and municipal infrastructure.

Total Compensation Package:  Anticipated to be $40,000-60,000 including sick leave, vacation leave, and other fringe benefits.
 

Position:  Superintendent of Public Works

Reports to:  The Superintendent shall be supervised by, report to, and be accountable to the Village President and shall also be accountable to the Village Board of Trustees.

Duties:  The Superintendent shall oversee all operations of public works in the village, including 1)managing public works village employees, 2)overseeing village utilities systems including water, sewer, garbage, and other, 3)performing and overseeing all village maintenance activities to all village assets 4)performing and overseeing ordinance enforcement, zoning, and similar regulatory duties, 5)prepare for and attend village board meetings, 6)and all other duties assigned by the Village President.

Position Requirements:  Two years of professional supervisory and management experience, evidence of post-secondary education or training, interest and ability in maintaining village utilities and assets, good communication and leadership skills, interest and ability in understanding municipal governance and municipal infrastructure, must hold or obtain CDL.

 Total Compensation Package:  Anticipated to be $35,000-50,000 including sick leave, vacation leave, and other fringe benefits.Type your paragraph here.
